Suns and Spurs is get ready to Rumble!

The most anticipated boxing match in years takes place later tonight in Las Vegas when Oscar De La Hoya takes on Floyd Mayweather Jr. In much the same way that boxing fans are eagerly anticipating the De La Hoya / Mayweather battle, basketball fans can't wait for the Suns and Spurs to tip off Sunday afternoon. And upon further inspection, there are some similarities between the participants in these two encounters.

Much like the Phoenix Suns, Floyd Mayweather is lighting-fast, flashy, sharp, athletic, aggressive, and devastatingly effective. He is a new brand of fighter.

On the other hand, you have his counterpart, Oscar De La Hoya. His style bears a resemblance to San Antonio Spur's Greg Popovich and Tim Duncan. De La Hoya is old-school. And while he may not be as aesthetically pleasing as Mayweather, he is tough, experienced, prodding, hard-hitting, tactical, uncompromising, and accustomed to winning. Just like the Spurs.

They say that styles make a fight. We shall see....
