Hawes is an extremely skilled center with advanced low-post moves for player his age. He's at this best playing the high post and working the pick-and-pop, he also has excellent footwork and touch in the paint.
He even can score intelligently both facing and with his back to the basket and possesses a great variety of post moves and counters he can go to with either hand.
Hawes doesn't have the athletic upside of many of the top prospects in the draft, but his basketball skill and size should translate into a productive NBA career. Think or look at Vlade Divac.
