MVP Candidates

Whose are have a chance to win MVP (Most Valuable Player) title in this NBA season?
Here are the MVP candidate prediction by InsideHoops.com:

  1. Dirk Nowitzki, Mavericks
    Position: PF
    H/W: 7'-0" / 245 lb
    Stats: 25.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 50.2% FG, 42.4% 3FG
Comments: The best player on the team with the league's best record. And if Dirk isn't playing with any all-stars (or so coaches say) but Nash is playing with two, doesn't that put Dirk over the top?

  2. Steve Nash, Suns
    Pos: PG
    H/W: 6'-3" / 195 lb
    Stats: 19.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 11.5 assists, 53.2% FG, 49.2% 3FG
Comments: The back-to-back current MVP is right up there with Dirk.

  3. Kobe Bryant, Lakers
    Poss: SG
    H/W: 6'-6" / 220 lb
    Stats: 27.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 47.0% FG
Comments: Incredible season. With Lamar Odom injured, Kobe is leading a team of backups to the 5th best record in the league.

  4. Tim Duncan, Spurs
    Pos: PF
    H/W: 6'-11" / 260 lb
Stats: 19.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 blocks, 54.7% FGComments: Duncan's barely getting any mention this season. Which is ridiculous. The Spurs aren't as sharp as expected, yet they've got the third best record in the league. Credit Tim. Defense counts, folks.

  5. Gilbert Arenas, Wizards
    Pos: PG
    H/W: 6'-4" / 215 lb
Stats: 29.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 43.1% FGComments: Amazing. Agent Zero continues to take his game to an insane level.

TIED WITH

LeBron James, Cavaliers
Pos: SF
H/W: 6'-8" / 240 lb
Stats: 27.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.6 steals, 47.7% FGComments: King James isn't getting as much mention this season as expected, but don't sleep on this unguardable superstar.
